Trip Tips
Hiking Difficulty and Fitness Levels
Our hikes are moderately challenging, covering well-marked paths through woodlands, upland meadows, and hilltops up to nearly 1700m. While generally good, some paths may be steep due to our Julian Alps foothill location. To fully enjoy the hiking, be comfortable walking in hilly areas for about 6-7 hours daily, including rest stops. Hikes typically involve 600 to 1000 meters ascent, requiring steady uphill walking for several hours, followed by a relatively level descent. For those not used to day hikes in hilly terrain, ensure adequate fitness levels by incorporating aerobic exercise and hill walking into your preparations before the holiday.
Cycling Terrain, Skill Level, and Fitness
A balanced mix of surfaces, with approximately 50% gravel and 50% smooth asphalt. Suitable for both intermediate and novice riders with moderate fitness levels.
